Despite recent adverse publicity, in Mr. Jennings’ experience, the people involved in GPO’s are well intentioned, hard working, dedicated and doing their level best to service the owner and affiliated hospitals. However, the economic model is not designed to get in the face of the suppliers and deliver to the hospitals the lowest possible unit prices. It is time for a change.
