Gary W. Amberson, CHE
Senior Consultant

Mr. Amberson joins American Healthcare Solutions following his exceptional experience as a healthcare executive in various industry settings. Holding many key administrative roles in the hospital organizations that he has called home over the course of his long career, Gary has developed an expertise in ambulatory care, support services, planning, rehabilitation, financial management, post acute services, and supply chain management. Mr. Amberson primed himself for success in the healthcare industry by earning his undergraduate degree in Respiratory Therapy from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He further specialized himself by acquiring not only a Master's Degree in Healthcare Management but also in Accounting. Gary's strong educational background helped him to enter the hospital setting and progress quickly to management and director level duties. His personality and leadership skills have enabled him to achieve excellent physician relations, team building, problem solving, and change management abilities. Mr. Amberson has accomplished much through his management designations including notable census increases, facility upgrades/renovations, process improvement implementation, and high patient satisfaction marks. He has also been heavily involved with Joint Commission activities, acquiring accreditation and completing multiple surveys without any recommendations posed to the areas for which he was responsible. Having worked with hospitals ranging in size from 845 to 120 beds, Gary has the ability to realize each organization's unique potential and capitalize on it. His well-rounded and diverse background is a welcomed addition to the AHS team.

Marc A. Cammarata
Managing Director, Human Resource Management

Marc Cammarata is a strong leader with communications, negotiations, operations, financial, and human resources management skills honed through more than thirty years of corporate and healthcare human resources and operations management experience in the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors. Mr. Cammarata has established a consulting practice with a focus on human resources and operations management. Prior to founding his consulting firm and joining AHS, Mr. Cammarata organized and managed the human resources departments for two organizations where he was accountable for employment, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee and labor relations, fair employment practices, safety, training, and development and employee services. Mr. Cammarata holds adjunct faculty appointments with Waynesburg College, The University of Saint Francis (IL), Geneva College, and Breyer State University. He holds a master of arts in industrial relations and a bachelor of science in business administration from St. Francis (PA) University.

Julienne V. Custer
Associate Consultant

Julienne brings a diverse background to her position as Associate Consultant with AHS. Her undergraduate degree in Advertising/Public Relations from the Pennsylvania State University, coupled with her many professional talents, has enabled Ms. Cottetta to successfully contribute to the productivity and strategic service areas of the firm. Her market research, account management, and interpersonal communication capabilities were put to full use in the positions that she held prior to joining AHS. As a former team member of a global media group, Julienne has worked on several high profile accounts for some of the agency's Fortune 500 clients. Monitoring market activity and developing skilled client recommendations were part of her daily repertoire. More recently, her role as Senior Consultant for a Mid-Atlantic staffing firm has provided her with extensive knowledge of the recruiting industry as well as strong new business development tactics. All this combined with an excellent work ethic and personal healthcare industry ties make Julienne a wonderful addition to the AHS family.

Stephanie Dorwart, MHA
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Stephanie Dorwart is responsible for business activities and consulting services for productivity benchmarking, implementation and monitoring, as well as recruitment and retention engagements. Her analytical and mathematical skills, combined with in-depth practical, healthcare experience enable her to lead and support consulting engagements in a variety of disciplines and settings. In addition to the development of SHARP Staffing®, AHS's productivity tool, her work includes qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation, performance measurement development, and strategic planning. Ms. Dorwart received an MHA from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health and graduated magna cum laude from Duquesne University with a BS in mathematics and education. Ms. Dorwart won the Delta Omega, Omicron Chapter, 2004 Outstanding Thesis Award.

Thomas J. Feldman, Sr.
Senior Vice President, Business Development

Thomas Feldman, Sr. brings over 30 years of extraordinary healthcare experience to American Healthcare Solutions. Prior to joining AHS, Mr. Feldman was acting CFO of Lighthouse Care Center of South Carolina, LLC. He has also served as senior vice president and corporate vice president of administrative & support services for the Health Alliance of Central New York. In addition, he serves as vice president of program & community development and corporate government affairs for Millard Fillmore Health System in Buffalo, NY. He is extensively involved in community and professional activities, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Mr. Feldman holds his masters of science degree in health administration from Trinity University, San Antonio, and his bachelor of science degree in business management and economics from State University of New York Empire State College in Saratoga, New York.

Steve Franklin
Managing Director, Interim and Transitional Leadership Services

Steve Franklin has led respected regional health care systems, hospitals, and medical centers. For over thirty years, he has worked to create new corporations, orchestrated mergers, and negotiated joint ventures and strategic alliances. He helped to introduce new patient care initiatives, expanded services, led major building programs, and created integrated healthcare delivery systems while reversing operating losses, continuously creating surpluses, and successfully containing costs. His organizational strength comes from an ability to build effective working relationships with physicians, boards, physician hospital organizations, competitors, unions, and external constituencies.

Mr. Franklin holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Iowa and a certificate in management development from Penn State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as an examiner and regent advisor. He has served on the boards of various professional associations, shared-service organizations, and a major insurance company. He was appointed by the governor to the State Health Policy Board, and has served as a lecturer, preceptor, and faculty member for such institutions as Carnegie-Mellon University, Penn State University, University of Pittsburgh, Shippensburg University, the School of Allied Health Professions at Ithaca College, and the University of Missouri

Jan R. Jennings
President and Chief Executive Officer

Jan Jennings entered healthcare administration as an Officer in the U.S. Air Force Medical Service Corps in 1970. He earned a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976. He served the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Shadyside Hospital between 1974 and 1980.  At the age of 33 he assumed his first CEO position at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital in Utica, New York and won the prestigious Young Hospital Administrator of the Year Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in 1983. He served as CEO of the Millard Fillmore Hospital System for ten years in Buffalo. In 1993 he became the CEO of Children’s Memorial Hospital (Chicago) in affiliation with Northwestern University Medical School. Mr. Jennings has taught Health Policy at the Jacobs School of Management at the University at Buffalo and served on the adjunct faculty of the Graduate School of Public Health, Program in Health Administration, University of Pittsburgh.  Mr. Jennings is a member of the faculty of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  He was CEO at Jefferson Regional Medical School in Pittsburgh and launched a dramatic turnaround from 2000 to 2003. He founded American Healthcare Solutions in 2004 and has advocated for those hospitals, physicians and health systems that have struggled, both financially and clinically. Mr. Jennings in known to express strong policy positions with respect to healthcare reform and is frequently referred to as America’s “Health Care Thought Provocateur.”

Brian Krugle
Vice President, Business Intelligence Systems

Brian Krugle brings a strong technological background to American Healthcare Solutions. His background includes working within the Information Services department of Giant Eagle, Inc., and most recently at the National Robotics Engineering Center at Carnegie Mellon University. A 2004 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh's School of Information Science, Mr. Krugle also has a background working with local non-profit groups since 1999, serving several years as a board member

Suzanne Martin, MHMS
Associate Consultant and Data Analyst

Suzanne Martin brings over five years of Healthcare experience to her current role with AHS. Her expertise in data analysis, decision support and marketing has armed her with a superior knowledge of healthcare data, enabling her to actively contribute to the market demand, productivity and financial benchmarking services that AHS provides. Ms. Martin is also heavily involved in supporting the strategic advisory services, financial turnaround and interim management activities of the firm. Prior to joining AHS, Suzanne worked for a Data Management company where she provided consulting and technical software support services to over 300 clients nationwide. She received her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University and her Master's Degree in Health Management Systems from Duquesne University. Active in her community, Ms. Martin currently serves on the board of directors as Vice President of the Down Syndrome Group of Western Pennsylvania.

Thomas McConnell
Special Advisor

Thomas McConnell was a senior vice president of The Hunter Group and has over 25 years of experience as CFO, COO, and CEO in religious-sponsored, public, community hospitals and major tertiary medical centers. He has developed and organized structures and teams to achieve improved productivity and cost efficiencies in a variety of hospital operations: budgeting, medical records, ancillary services, laboratories, home health programs, physician practices, clinical information systems, and materials management. Other healthcare positions and experience include: president and CEO, Suburban General Hospital, Pennsylvania; COO, Firelands Community Hospital; CFO, Wilson Memorial Hospital and Irwin Army Hospital. Mr. McConnell is a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, a member of the American Hospital Association and has served as preceptor for health services administration programs at Ohio State University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Cleveland State University. He received both his BS degree in business administration and his master's degree in hospital and health services administration from Ohio State University.

Joseph Moore
Vice President, New Business Development

Mr. Moore joined American Healthcare Solutions in October 2006 as Vice President of New Business Development. Joseph brings to his current role at AHS a vast background of sales experience. In his most recent position at HMR, Inc, Mr. Moore was responsible for selling traffic safety products through a network of distributors in the northeast region. Mr. Moore has also held sales positions at PPG Biomedical Systems where he was responsible for sales of SARA Anesthesia Systems, IRISA Ventilators and Anesthesia Recording Devices. During his tenure at Technicon Instruments Corporation, Mr. Moore was responsible for a $3 million budget for diagnostic reagents used on Technician Instruments and succeeded in becoming number one Diagnostic Account Executive for the East Coast twice in one year.

During his career at Valleylab, Inc, Joseph was responsible for million dollar plus sales of Infusion pumps at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. He also was inducted into Executive Club in recognition of achieving the highest attainment of quota in the company. During his 6 years at Instrumental Laboratory, Inc.,    Mr. Moore received several salesman of the month award for blood gas instrument sales.

Joseph served four years as Hospital Corpsman for United States Navy. He also served two years on USS Repose, a hospital ship off the coast of Vietnam before being honorably discharged.

Patricia A. Nadle
Senior Consultant

With an extended background in nursing and healthcare management, Ms. Nadle brings a clinical expertise to the American Healthcare Solutions family that is unparalleled. Pat began her professional training as a hands-on staff nurse and has continued to diversify herself throughout her career. After achieving her nursing diploma, she challenged herself further by pursuing both a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing as well as a Master's Degree in Business Management and Administration. Ms. Nadle used her strong education, coupled with her dedication to patient care, to advance quickly in the healthcare field to management level status. In holding coveted executive administration roles such as Chief Nursing Officer, Pat has achieved many successes including the design and implementation of productivity improvement structures, revenue enhancement initiatives, and hospital expansion projects. She has also been a key negotiator with regard to labor contract settlements, earning exceptional patient satisfaction scores, and being awarded Solucient Top 100 Hospital Designations for the various organizations for which she has worked. Aside from her tremendous skill sets and sharp personality, Ms. Nadle has been able to improve systems of care delivery by keeping the quality of the patient experience at the forefront of all of her efforts. While reaching new heights in the hospital setting, Pat has also been actively engaged elsewhere in the healthcare community. She is a published professional, active member of many notable groups, and has added teaching to her vast repertoire. Ms. Nadle's unique approach to clinical management, philosophies regarding physician and administrative partnerships, and raw nursing talent, have made her a gem in the healthcare industry that AHS was thrilled to acquire.

Linda J. Nenni
Senior Vice President, Legal and Regulartory Services

Linda Nenni is an accomplished healthcare professional with a strong legal background. With over twenty years of experience, Ms. Nenni strengths are in executive leadership, strategic planning, governance and corporate compliance. Her legal background allows her to advise clients on general, corporate and regulatory healthcare related matters. Ms.Nenni has invaluable knowledge of risk management and malpractice defense. Ms. Nenni held the positions of Vice President & General Counsel for Kaleida Health, Senior Vice President for Caduceus Consulting Group and Vice President and General Counsel at Millard Fillmore Health System. She brings with her years of accomplished healthcare and legal knowledge. She received her Masters in Education from the University of Buffalo and her Juris Doctor from the University Of Buffalo School Of Law. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

W. Bradley Pifalo, MD
Chief Medical Officer

Dr. W. Bradley Pifalo is the Chief Medical Officer of American Healthcare Solutions. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialty of Internal Medicine and the subspecialty of Cardiovascular Disease. Brad's extensive experience includes 17 years of clinical practice and 10 years as a physician executive in a large managed care organization. He has advanced expertise in the clinical and financial impacts of primary and secondary prevention of chronic health conditions, comprehensive disease management, and population health management; complimented by a refined ability to apply his knowledge and communicate his impressions and recommendations. Brad's ability to walk in both the clinical and executive worlds make him the ideal choice for Chief Medical Officer of the firm. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and his memberships include the American Medical Association, American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and the Institute for Health and Productivity Management. He has published articles in several major medical journals and is frequently interviewed for print, radio, and television media.

RandiLynn Pollino, MHS
Vice President, Productivity and Benchmarking Services

RandiLynn Pollino brings excellence in communications and marketing to her current position at AHS. Her sales experience and understanding of human behavior enables her to effectively coordinate recruitment and retention activities for hospitals and health systems, and to support AHS in productivity engagements. Ms. Pollino facilitates all aspects of client engagements for her service lines, from prospecting to follow-up and from data collection to background research. Her interpersonal and managerial knowledge provides invaluable event planning and collateral design and development to AHS. Prior to joining AHS, Ms. Pollino was a sales consultant for a Fortune 500 company. She received undergraduate degrees in advertising and psychology from Pennsylvania State University.

Kenneth A. Rogers
Managing Director, Planning and Marketing

Kenneth Rogers is the founder and executive consultant of Kenneth A. Rogers Strategic Management & Marketing and a managing director of AHS. Mr. Rogers has considerable experience in strategic planning, marketing strategy, and management consulting in service industries and not-for-profit organizations, and has worked extensively in the health care and higher education fields. Mr. Rogers' leadership extends to both his professional life and the Buffalo community. Currently on several not-for-profit agency boards of directors, Mr. Rogers is past president of the Buffalo/Niagara Chapter of the American Marketing Association and past chair of the board of the Greater Buffalo Chapter of the American Red Cross. Mr. Rogers is a graduate of Binghamton University and the State University of New York at Buffalo and maintains extremely close ties to academia. He has been an adjunct assistant professor in the Schools of Management and Medicine of the University at Buffalo (SUNY), where he teaches graduate level courses in health systems management. Mr. Rogers has authored several works and co-authored Strategic Management of Hospitals and Health Care Facilities (1988, Aspen).

Barb A. Sallo
Managing Director, Patient Care Services

Barb Sallo is a hands-on health care expert with practical, clinical experience, an insurance background, deep business acumen, and a keen understanding of the implications of providing healthcare. During her career, she has gained a proven ability to plan and develop new business concepts in health care and to work collaboratively with others to set and achieve goals. She also has a strong business feasibility background with particular expertise assessing cardiovascular programs in hospitals throughout the country. With an MBA and RN certification, Ms. Sallo applies business expertise and firsthand knowledge of clinical practice while assisting clients with strategic business planning for services in cardiology, open heart surgery, and peripheral vascular care services. She has worked with hospitals, physician networks, third-party payors, and suppliers to build and expand world class programs. Ms. Sallo holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree in nursing from La Roche College. She is also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Entrepreneurial Fellows Program.

Dennis Stillman
Managing Director, Healthcare Financial Management

Dennis Stillman is a health care administrator with 25 years experience in operations and financial management. In addition to his financial advisory and consulting services, he is the associate program director and senior lecturer in the MHA programs at the University of Washington. Prior to starting his consulting practice and joining the UW faculty, Mr. Stillman was the chief financial officer of the University of Washington Medical Center for 12 years. Mr. Stillman is the author of Health Care Finance Basics: A Primer for Board Members, published by Jossey-Bass. He holds a master's degree in health services administration from the University of Washington and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Puget Sound. Mr. Stillman is a certified public accountant and a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

W. Neil Stroman, CHE
Senior Consultant

As an extremely talented and tenured executive hospital administrator, Mr. Stroman is being greeted with open arms by the members of American Healthcare Solutions. Having served in such high-profile roles as President, CEO, and COO, Neil joins the consulting team with vast experience already under his belt. His industry knowledge has been cultivated throughout his career, stemming from his undergraduate education at Arizona State University to his post-graduate work at George Washington University where he earned a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration. From the time he completed his education until present, Mr. Stroman has made many lasting contributions to the hospital organizations for which he has worked. He has built his expertise in the areas of partnering, mergers, corporate structure, facility planning, managed care, cost effectiveness, and recruiting, among others. With the energy and strong leadership that Neil provides, he has succeeded in taking hospitals, undergoing significant changes, to the next level of care and service. He has been actively involved in improving hospital reputations within the community, increasing market share, establishing capital replacement plans, developing strategic hospital repositioning plans, and identifying additional revenue sources. Mr. Stroman has also brought many unstable healthcare groups to firm ground by developing strategies for long term competition. He has worked at various sized organizations in both rural and urban communities, making his healthcare management style more diverse. As a former member of the United States Armed Forces, Neil knows the value of dedication and teamwork. He has the ability to dually focus his efforts on both patient care and the business perspective, making him a tremendous asset that AHS is proud to share.

Deborah Wells
Managing Director, Physician Practice Management and Financial Services

Deborah Wells is well known for her financial and consulting services to the healthcare arena. With more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, she is dedicated to serving private and academic medical practices of all sizes. Her strengths include physician compensation models, cash flow planning, strategic planning, general practice operations, and financial systems and controls. She provides accounting, audit, and tax services for a wide variety of specialties. Ms. Wells also specializes in project-oriented consulting services to medical practices. She has presented educational programs for hospitals, the Medical Group Management Association, physicians, and practice manager groups. Ms. Wells holds a bachelor's degree in accounting management from Marshall University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Denise R. Williams
Managing Director, Community Hospital Management Services

Denise Williams is a senior healthcare executive with extensive experience in hospital and health system operations, strategic positioning, and financial turnaround. She possesses a unique combination of visionary leadership and technical expertise. She is known as a consensus builder with particular acumen for negotiating, team building, and leading change from within. Ms. William's achievements include the prestigious Hudgens Award as 'Young Healthcare Executive of the Year' from the American College of Healthcare Executives, 1990. She is also sought after as a speaker, particularly on issues related to women in executive management. She remains active in local civic, business, and community affairs as a board member of both a bank and a faith-based community development corporation. Ms. Williams completed her undergraduate education at Norfolk State University and received her master's in health administration from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University.

Stuart Williams
Senior Vice President, Healthcare Consultant

Stuart Williams, a Pittsburgh native, joins the AHS team after his most recent venture as President and CEO of Westfield Memorial Hospital. Stuart's impressive healthcare background also includes over 35 years of experience as a healthcare executive , serving as the Assistant Administrator for the University of Michigan Hospital, COO, CEO and President for Columbus Children's Hospital and the CEO of Women's and Children's Hospital of Buffalo. In his tenure as President of The Williams Group, a Healthcare Consulting firm, Stuart worked with such high profile clients as the Ohio State University Medical Center, Mount Carmel Medical Center, Madison County Hospital and the Buckeye Boys Ranch.

Mr. Williams vast professional associations include, Board member and Chairman of the Ohio Healthcare Association (OHA); Board and Committee member of the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI); Board and Committee member of the American Healthcare Association (AHA); Founding member of the Child Healthcare Corporation of America (CHCA) and Member and past Chairman of the Healthcare Executive Study Society (HESS).

Stuart received a B.S. degree from Allegheny College and an MBA from the University of Chicago. After receiving his MBA, Stuart enlisted in the US Navy after working as Administrative Resident at Evanston Hospital and serving as Lt. in Medical Service Corp at Naval Hospital in Quantico, Virginia. With his extensive healthcare background and associations, Mr. Williams will certainly be an asset to American Healthcare Solutions.
